The 1940s saw two distinctive styles in women's clothing. From the beginning of World War II in 1939 till the dawn of the New Look in 1947, women's dresses were knee-length and featured padded shoulders. Sportswear became more common and women used a lot of ingenuity in mixing separates to make a wardrobe seem more diverse than it was. Homemade accessories and elaborate curls allowed women to show their flair without expense or waste. Hats, especially made from fabrics recycled from older pieces, went wild.
The 40's are one of my favorite decades, so I was very inspired... and I got really excited when found this Hotel where I photographer which is a beautiful scenary!

A década de 1940 viu dois estilos distintos de roupas femininas. Desde o inicio da 2ª Guerra Mundial em 1939 até ao aparecimento do "New Look", em 1947, os vestidos estavam a altura dos joelhos e apareceram as ombreiras. O "sportswear" tornou-se mais comum e as mulheres misturavam com ingenuidade as peças separadas para fazer o guarda roupa parecer mais diversificado. Acessórios feitos em casa e penteados elaborados permitiram às mulheres mostrar o seu talento sem custos. Estavam na moda os chapéus, especialmente feitos de tecidos reciclados e peças mais antigas.
Os anos 40 são uma das minhas décadas preferidas, logo estava muito inspirada para esta sessão fotográfica .... e fiquei bastante entusiasmada quando encontrei este Hotel onde fotografei, é um cenário lindo! :)

In the 1930s there was a return to a more genteel, ladylike apeerance. The hair became softer and Prettier as hair perms improved and foreheads which had been hidden by cloche hats were revealed and adorned with smal plate shaped hats. The war had much effect on fashion too!
The War and Immigration were my biggest inspirations in this photoshoot :)

Na década de 1930, houve um retorno a uma aparência mais calma e elegante. Os cabelos ficaram mais macios e bonitos com a chegada das permanentes e as testas que tinham sido escondidas pelos chapéus cloche foram reveladas e adornadas por boinas. A guerra também influenciou muito a moda!
A gerra e a imigração foram as minhas maiores inspirações para esta sessão fotográfica :)
